Tested hardware

No row here is a hardware recording yet. Scheduled on-site hardware days fill the register model, cable/adapter part number, firmware, actual transport and recording columns. A protocol document is not a successful connection to a physical instrument. This list currently vouches for no specific scale model.

The status vocabulary is literal: documented means protocol documentation only; recorded means a hardware capture has been filed, with validation still pending; tested-on-site means the exact listed combination passed the on-site checks. Only status=tested-on-site together with tested=true and a recording reference can support a model claim, limited to that register, cable, firmware and transport. Neither a recording nor an on-site software test confers instrument verification, certification or legal-for-trade status.

Guessed or non-vendor modes are excluded from the status matrix rather than promoted to documented:

  • CAS ASCII continuous: guessed framing, explicit ASCII mode only, tested=false.
  • DIGI additional parity calculation: guessed XOR coverage; the document specifies presence and escaping only, tested=false.
  • Dibal native: guessed framing with no public protocol document found, tested=false.
  • Shekel native: guessed stub only; parser returns no weight and the factory refuses the mode, tested=false.
  • Generic ASCII: an operator-defined pattern, not a documented vendor protocol; the default example is a QA fixture, tested=false.

Transport boundaries: Web Serial depends on the browser API and the operating system's port driver; BLE covers an external Nordic UART module only, not built-in CAS/Star Bluetooth; native Android covers CDC-ACM only, not FTDI/CP210x or ambiguous multi-function CDC devices. iPad/iPhone have no checkout-scale transport in this app. No cable part number, register model or firmware version has been measured here.

For a hardware day, file the exact combination and raw frames alongside the instrument's division, protocol mode and serial line settings. Include stable and moving loads, zero, tare, overload, disconnect during settling, reconnect, permission denial and a scanned printed label. Collect Printer → Checkout scale → Live scale diagnostics → Copy scale diagnostics and Locations → Barcodes and weighing → Live barcode tester → Test saved layouts → Support details. See the weighing support runbook for symptom checks and the official-information paragraph for instrument verification enquiries.
