Cookie Policy

Effective date: July 22, 2026

This policy explains how VoVi POS ("VoVi," "we") uses cookies and similar technologies on vovipos.com and in the VoVi platform.

The short version

We use no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no social-media pixels, and no third-party trackers of any kind. Our fonts and images are served from our own site, so viewing our pages sends no request to Google, Meta, or any other advertising company. The only technologies we use are strictly necessary for the Service to function — which is why you don't see a cookie banner here: under the ePrivacy rules and U.S. state privacy laws, strictly necessary storage does not require consent.

What we actually use

Cookies and storage used by VoVi
NameTypePurposeDuration
avon_sessCookie (httpOnly, first-party)Keeps you signed in to your VoVi workspace after you log in. Strictly necessary; set only when you sign in.7 days
avon_posCookie (httpOnly, first-party)Keeps a staff member signed in to the register on a shop till after they enter their PIN, so the till stays usable through a shift. Strictly necessary; set only on an authorized register.14 hours
avon_deviceCookie (httpOnly, first-party)Remembers that an owner authorized this device for the register. Strictly necessary; set only during device authorization.365 days or until deauthorized
avon_hqCookie (httpOnly, first-party)Signs a VoVi staff operator in to our internal control centre. Strictly necessary; set only for our own team, never for merchants or for visitors to this website.12 hours
vovi_leadsLocal storage (first-party)If you submit the contact form while our server is unreachable, your submission is kept in your own browser so it isn't lost, and it is sent to us automatically the next time you open the site. Nothing else reads it and it goes nowhere else.Until cleared

Exact cookie names may vary slightly between releases; their category, purpose, and first-party-only nature do not.

What we deliberately don't use

Email we send

Cookies are not the only way a message can be counted, so for completeness: the marketing campaigns a VoVi merchant sends to their own customers can carry a small tracking image and links that record whether the message was opened or clicked, so the merchant can see how the campaign performed. Those counts are first-party — they go to that merchant's campaign statistics inside VoVi and nowhere else — and they only reach people who opted in to that merchant's marketing. Transactional email (receipts, password resets, order updates) carries no tracking of this kind.

Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time. Blocking the essential cookies listed above will prevent signing in to the platform, but the public website works fully without any cookies at all.

Changes

If we ever introduce a technology that requires consent (for example, analytics), we will add a consent banner that asks you first, and update this policy before doing so.
