The POS register — screen by screen

The register is a row of big buttons along the bottom. Each one opens a screen:

Sale (the main register)

  • Left side: products. Search by name, SKU, or barcode; filter with the category chips; tap a product to add it to the cart. Barcode scanners work automatically — just scan.
  • Right side: the cart. Each line shows quantity (+/− buttons) and price.
  • Negotiable pricing ("Spare"): products can be marked negotiable with a minimum price ("floor"). Tap the price button on a cart line to change the price for that customer. The register shows how much room is left to negotiate — that flexible amount is called the Spare (the label can be renamed per company). The server enforces the floor: going below the minimum price requires a manager approval. A summary bar above the totals shows the remaining Spare for the whole cart.
  • Add customer — attach a customer to the sale (for loyalty points, history, layaways). Loyalty points can be redeemed at checkout when the customer has enough (typically 100+ points).
  • Discount — apply a percent or amount discount to the cart, or enter a coupon code.
  • Incentive — issue a gift-card incentive funded from the remaining Spare (a "gift with purchase" that doesn't break margin).
  • Layaway — take a deposit now and hold the items; the customer pays the balance over time.
  • Park — save the cart to finish later; resume from the Parked screen.
  • Charge — take payment. Tenders: Cash (with change calculation), Card (via the external card terminal), Check, Gift card, Store credit — and payments can be split across tenders. When done a receipt appears; it can be printed or a new sale started.

Receipts

Recent sales at this register. Open any sale to see the full receipt (lines, tax, payments, who sold it, where). From a receipt a manager can process a return/refund or void.

Clients

Look up customers, see purchase history and loyalty points, add or edit customers. (Visible only to staff with customer permissions.)

Gift

Sell or reload gift cards and check a card's balance.

Layaway

See open layaways, take additional payments, and complete or cancel them.

Competition

Live sales competitions ("podium") the boss sets up in Back Office — shows current standings and prizes.

Drawer

Cash-drawer management for staff with cash permissions: open a shift with a starting float, record cash in/out (paid-ins, drops), and close the shift with a count — differences are recorded. The End of Day report in Back Office is built from these shifts.

Clock In/Out

The staff time clock plus personal stats:

  • Big Check In (green) and Check Out (red) buttons at the top. Any employee can punch in or out here by entering their own username and password in the popup ("Sign in to check in — or scan your finger"). A fingerprint reader option is coming; for now it's username + password.
  • The header of the register also has a small clock button that clocks the currently signed-in cashier in/out with one tap.
  • Below the buttons: My sales today and My commission for the signed-in cashier, and a button to enable notification alerts on the device.

Business Card

The company's digital business card to show or print for customers. It displays the company name, location name, full address, phone number(s), and email — all taken from Back Office → Locations → Settings → General info (edit them there and the card updates). Below the card, everyone currently checked in at the location is listed — tap a name (or several) to add "Your sales associate" with those names onto the card before showing or printing it.

Parked

Resume any parked sale.

Header buttons

  • Clock pill — one-tap clock in/out for the signed-in cashier (shows "On shift" when clocked in).
  • Lock — locks the register back to the PIN screen (always lock when stepping away).
